While it hasn’t been too long since we posted a Google+ pro-tip post, there are so many awesome tips available for using Google+ to promote your indie studio that I had to share a few more with you today. Your Google+ personal profile and Google+ business page are two completely different pages. Although it can be confusing at first, you can use this to your benefit. Simply share relevant content on your Google+ business page (you can find the best way to share compelling content via the links above), switch to your Google+ profile, then +1 the shared content on your Google+ business page. Easy, right?
So what’s the point? Again, it’s easy: anything you +1 will show up in your followers’ news feeds. This will increase the odds of your content being seen and ultimately shared by more people than ever. It’s a method that will maximize your reach with a few short clicks!
Strive to get on ‘What’s Hot and Recommended’
Another great thing about using Google+ is the ‘What’s Hot and Recommended’ section. It’s a list that details content that’s hot at the moment, and the best thing about it? Anyone can get on the list if they know how to do it. The best way to get on it? Create relevant content that has a chance at going viral (think memes, infographics – anything visual.), post it to your Google+ business page, then promote it aggressively. If the content earns enough shares to trigger the special algorithm that informs Google+ to pay attention to your content and post it on the list.
Easier said than done? Absolutely, but it’s not impossible. Follow the advice above/in the posts linked above, and you’ll do fine.
