This is certainly one of the most interesting interviews I’ve done for Game Academy Radio, and I think you are going to agree. Side Dish Games consists of only three people, and the trio released their first game Spell Siege a few months ago on Apple’s App Store and Google Play respectively. As I stated in the interview, the game plays like a title that was made by a much larger team in that it is incredibly polished. Add to the fact that the game is the team’s freshman game, and you have an incredible achievement on your hands.
While the game is awesome (and you should definitely check it out), that isn’t what makes Side Dish Games so unique. Charlie (programmer) and Jaimie (artist) Copprell are brother and sister, and as for Morgane Botella (musician)? She’s the girlfriend of Charlie. We discuss Charlie and Jaimie’s childhood as they grew up together, the importance of game jams in terms of learning new ways to create compelling games, and we even wax nostalgic on a little Sega Dreamcast talk. It’s a fun interview you won’t want to miss courtesy of Game Academy Radio, so listen now!
