Apple wants to make it easier for any app developer to learn the secret to ‘Designing Great Apps’ for the iOS 7 platform. So, today they announced the launch of their new microsite covering the best design techniques and resources available.
The company has been working diligently with devs offering tons of tutorial videos, documents, and whitepapers focusing on various methods to simplify the process of integrating their current designs to fit the new, curtailed graphical appearance of the operating system. They’re also on a mission to inspire professionals in the app business to think more outside of the box in terms of design associated with an app’s user interface. The vision is to simultaneously merge groundbreaking visuals with equally innovative concepts.
The developer microsite features a wide selection of in-depth tutorial videos from the original Tech Talks series that the company released earlier in December. Videos from last June’s Worldwide Developers Conference also known as the WWDC annual event are listed as well. Links to important documents to aid devs during the process of developing mobile apps posted on the site includes UI Design Do’s and Don’ts, the iOS Transition Guide, and the iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
The website has a sleek designed sidebar with special presentation videos available for instant viewing such as the iOS 7 introductory design tutorial, Apple’s “Designed by Apple in California” special from the WWDC event, and the developer “Making a Difference, One App at a Time” speech from the same conference in 2013.
Although there’s no new resource material added to the site, it displays an easy to reference collection of current Apple video tutorials, guidelines, and helpful information to assist devs in the sometimes daunting task of tweaking their applications in order to adhere to the changes and special components of Apple’s latest mobile operating system, the iOS 7.
