The way indie developers earn a living is changing. Gone are the days in which an indie developer could earn their riches merely by focusing on 1-2 platforms such as iOS and/or Android. The competition among platforms is heating up, and now more than ever, the importance of ensuring your indie game is multi-platform has never been greater.

When we say ‘multi-platform,’ we don’t mean just a few mobile platforms and that’s it – not by a long shot. With over a dozen platforms ripe with players, this truly is an era of opportunity for indie developers to maximize their profits by releasing their indie games to tons of platforms simultaneously, thus reaping the rewards in the process. It’s essential to your success.

Which is why with Buildbox, we had adopted the mantra of, ‘build once, play everywhere.’ You will be pleased to know that the days of having to spend months tweaking and porting your indie game to another platform are long gone. With Buildbox by your side, the moment you finish developing your indie game, it’s available to release on over a dozen stores, including (but certainly not limited to):

  • iOS
  • OUYA
  • Android
  • Mac App Store
  • Steam
  • Samsung Store
  • Amazon Fire

And so much more!

What does this mean for you? Once you are finished building a game, you can release it on so many platforms that players can experience your game on their phone, tablet, PC, Mac, and even their televisions from the 12+ stores we offer, and the best part? We are adding support for new stores all the time!

Just imagine: at the same moment someone spots your indie game on their iPhone and decides to try it, someone else could be giving your indie game a spin via Steam, while someone else tries it on their Samsung Smart TV. By maximizing your indie game’s reach, you’re going to maximize your profits like never before!

Build once, play anywhere: it’s not just a catchy tagline, it’s a promise.

    Buildbox looks awesome!
But as an indie developer there is no way I can afford to buy Buildbox no matter how many platforms you can release it to.
