Indie Game Marketing: Using Facebook Ads To Promote Your Indie Studio

If you have been wondering about how you should use Facebook ads to promote your brand, then today’s post is for you. You should be interested too, as the organic reach Facebook Page’s has been steadily declining this year due to their algorithm change. It’s time to do something to ensure that your content is seen by as many people as possible on Facebook, and that begins with using Facebook ads. Why? Let’s find out.

Ads will cater your content to specific audiences

Do you want to reach a specific audience with your content? Facebook ads makes it simple. Using Facebook Ads Manager along with Power Editor, you can set your ads to target audiences with certain demographics such as via location, interests, income, job titles, and so on.  While you may not want to spend money to market your content, it’s unfortunately the way you’re going to find the maximum success on Facebook starting in 2015 and beyond.

You can also use video ads

Have you noticed video ads cropping up in your News Feed? It turns out that native video ads (video ads uploaded directly to Facebook) perform much better than ads uploaded to another site (i.e. YouTube). Facebook has released tools to create your own video ads as well. Whenever you upload your video ad to Facebook, you can even include call to actions at the end of the ad that will link to a Web address of your choice. After someone watches your ad, they will have the option to click the call to action button that links to the URL you specified, and boom: they’re on the Web page of your choice learning more about your brand.
