Yesterday, I mentioned the importance of using Facebook Groups to network with other indie developers. I urge you to please give it a read – especially if you have been having difficulties networking with other indie developers like yourself. After that, ensure that you can communicate with like-minded devs wherever you are with the Facebook Groups app!
I had no idea this app existed, but apparently it was quietly introduced last November. Who knew, right? At any rate, what makes the Facebook Groups app so awesome is how much control you have over every group you have joined. Your most frequented groups are always at the top, and it’s simple to move between multiple groups. Moreover, it’s also simple to track and change notifications you want to see.
One of the best features of the app is the Discover tab. It’s a lot like the Facebook Groups suggestion box on your home feed, except it’s much easier to navigate through group suggestions quickly. Each suggested group is based on different Pages you have liked, where you live, and even which groups your friends are in. If you have a few indie developers as friends on Facebook, this is an awesome, simple way to see which groups they are member of and which groups are worth joining for networking purposes.
We suggested that you should engage with different groups multiple times per week, and this is a great way to engage with other likeminded indie developers wherever you are. Try it out today, and start networking!
