Chartboost announced today, that the Independent Games Developers Association will be their featured partner for the university’s third semester.
The school was established in the spring of 2013 to help indie development teams learn and network with experienced industry veterans. Located in the San, Franscico area the program gives each dev team a $4,000 scholarship to cover housing and travel costs during their stay.
“Chartboost is excited to have IGDA as a featured CBU partner this year because we both aim to educate, inspire and help developers build amazing games while being smart about how to run a business,” commented Maria Alegre, the company’s CEO.
The board of chairman at IGDA, Dustin Clingman also expressed his excitement about the new venture by stating, “IGDA is pleased to participate with Chartboost in supporting the continuing professional development of game developers around the world.”
CBU’s Spring semester will start on March 5, 2014. All teams will receive a complimentary GDC pass during the quarter. Although only a select few are attending the school, they post all of their lectures online so others in the development community can follow along.
