Today Loop Unlimited announced the launch of its new mobile social network called GameLoop. Designed specifically for mobile gamers and app developers this community allows gamers to connect and share their love of mobile games. The network will also provide a platform for app developers to promote their available or upcoming titles.
GameLoop is free to download and install. Users sign into the app using twitter, Facebook, Google+ or as a guest. Then the application imports your installed iOS games by scanning the device. There’s also an option to further customize the experience by importing Xbox 360, PSN, or Steam games. Users a prompted with a classification or breakdown of their gaming preference with a percentage allocated in each genre category. A cool feature in GameLoop is the live feed also referred to as ‘The Loop’ which displays everyone posts. Anyone can post for all to see. Members can view what’s trending, follow people, search, or create a post about a particular game. Members can also like or comment posts. The application is basically a simplified mash-up of sites like Twitter and Facebook but geared towards gamers and developers.
Game recommendations are offered to each user based on the titles they already play or have installed on their phones. Occasionally recommendations will appear that are related to the top social trends. There’s a direct chat feature option as well.
“GameLoop is the ideal place to talk about the games you like and discover the games you will love,”said Steve Ganem, CEO of LoopUnlimited. “GameLoop will create a hub for players and developers around their games, and eventually, developers of those games will be able to reach their audiences directly.”
If you’re interested in GameLoop you can download it for free on iOS.
