I had a great interview with first-time developer Jeffery Foxx on last Friday’s Game Academy Radio, and it was great for a few reasons. First (and the most obvious reason) was the fact that Jeffery provided a wealth of information regarding his upcoming turn-based, post-apocalyptic strategy game Home Safe (currently seeking crowdfunding on Kickstarter), but the second reason was because I got to discuss one of my most favorite genres in gaming: turn-based strategy games. And boy, did we ever talk about turn-based games!
Over the course of the interview, you are going to learn about Foxx’s past, what led him to developing his first game, and everything you ever wanted to know about turn-based games to begin with. What makes them different from its brethren, real-time strategy (RTS) games? Can turn-based games become popular with mainstream gamers? Will we see a resurgence in the genre? Why are there so few turn-based games out there? You will learn about this and so much on this latest episode (and the first interview of 2014) of Game Academy Radio!
And as always, listen to Game Academy Radio live every Friday at 3pm CST/1pm PST!
