Happy Friday everyone – and welcome to another exciting edition of Free Tool Friday! Every week, we highlight an awesome free tool designed to help you to be productive and ensure that your indie studio is running as smoothly as possible. This week, we’re taking a look at the free tool Slack!

If you used previously highlighted tool Hall, then this tool is going to be pretty familiar. Available for Android, iOS, and even the desktop, Slack allows you to easily communicate with your team without having to constantly email them. Giving you the opportunity to create different channel to speak to individual or even groups of your team at a time, you can also archive conversations whenever you no longer need them.

Need to refer back to past conversations? Slack’s powerful search feature helps you to locate past conversations easily and quickly (and in my opinion, does it better than Hall). Need to use different tools to show information in Slack? You can do so, as Slack integrates popular tools such as Dropbox, Google Drive, GoToMeeting, any RSS feed, and so much more. If you want instant messaging capabilities that’s minimal by design but has a few more bells and whistles than Hall, Slack is the tool of choice!

That’s it for this week’s edition of Free Tool Friday! Do you have a free tool you believe is worthy of a mention in a future installment of Free Tool Friday? Let us know in the comments below!
