Hello everyone – and welcome to another exciting edition of Free Tool Friday! Every week, we bring you an exciting free tool aimed at helping you to stay more productive than ever before. This week’s tool? The awesome Boomerang for Gmail!

Gmail is pretty awesome on its own, but it lacks a few key features – namely read receipts. I remember using America On-Line waaay back in the day, and one of the features I enjoyed most about using AOL email is the fact that you could see when your message had been read. It’s a feature that has been lacking in email clients for…I suppose decades now; and Boomerang has brought it back! Simply request a read receipt if you absolutely need to know if your recipient read your message; in fat, you can even check to see if any links were clicked in the email (perfect for newsletters).

But that’s not all. Boomerang also allows you to specify when you want an email sent to your recipient (perfect when you want to send email around your schedule), it sends reminders to you when you need to respond to an email, and so much more. Boomerang gives Gmail that extra bit of ‘oomph’ that is has needed for so many years, and I know you’ll be glad that you installed it!

That’s it for this week’s edition of Free Tool Friday! Do you have a free tool that you want to in a future installment of Free Tool Friday? Let us know in the comments below!
